Tatum Shines as Celtics End Lakers’ Winning Streak, Warriors Beat Pistons

Jayson Tatum produced a spectacular performance as the Boston Celtics handed the Los Angeles Lakers their first defeat in nine games, securing a 111–101 victory at TD Garden.

The highly anticipated matchup lived up to its billing, with two of the NBA’s most historic franchises battling in a game that carried the feel of a potential Finals preview. Boston eventually took control after halftime, using a dominant third quarter to pull away from the visitors.

Tatum finished the night with 40 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists, recording his fourth 40-point game of the season. Jaylen Brown also made a major contribution with 31 points, while Al Horford added 14 and Derrick White scored 10.

The Lakers were led by Luka Doncic, who scored 34 points and knocked down five three-pointers. LeBron James contributed 22 points but was forced to leave the game during the fourth quarter with a groin issue.

Boston held a four-point advantage at halftime before producing a decisive third-quarter surge. The Celtics tightened up defensively and limited the Lakers to just 13 points during the period, while Tatum scored 10 points to help Boston build an 87–67 lead heading into the final quarter.

Los Angeles refused to go away quietly. Doncic helped the Lakers cut the deficit to four points at 99–95, giving the visitors hope of completing a comeback. Boston, however, responded with consecutive three-pointers to restore control and close out the victory.

The win moved the Celtics to 46–18, keeping them second in the Eastern Conference. The Lakers fell to 41–22 and dropped to third in the Western Conference.

Warriors Hold Off Pistons

Golden State also continued its impressive run, defeating the Detroit Pistons 115–110 to record a fourth consecutive victory.

Stephen Curry led the Warriors with 31 points, while Jimmy Butler contributed 26 points, nine rebounds and five assists.

Draymond Green delivered one of the game's biggest moments when he hit a long three-pointer with just 35 seconds remaining, giving Golden State a 110–108 lead. Curry then sealed the result from the free-throw line, making four attempts in the closing seconds.

The Warriors improved to 36–28, while Detroit slipped to 35–29.

Magic Edge Bucks

Elsewhere, Paolo Banchero scored 29 points as the Orlando Magic defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 111–109 on the road.

Giannis Antetokounmpo finished with 37 points for Milwaukee, but his individual effort was not enough to prevent the Bucks from suffering a narrow defeat.

In Atlanta, Trae Young scored 36 points as the Hawks edged the Indiana Pacers 120–118.

Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets produced one of the day's biggest wins, overwhelming the New Orleans Pelicans 146–117. Dillon Brooks led Houston with 27 points, while Alperen Sengun added 20.

With the Celtics and Warriors both extending their winning runs, the latest round of NBA action delivered another night of standout individual performances and important results across both conferences.
